The joy of owning a small business

I completely love the freedom, creatively and personally, that owning my business provides. I think it's really awesome that I can create the beautiful images and products that I do, and affordably so! I have, however, recently decided that I hate QuickBooks and the entire financial side of running the business. Go figure, I'm a creative-type that can't stand numbers. :) I know money is important, but not important enough for me to stress over it. I want to outsource this job to an accountant if I can do it without emptying out my bank account. This way I can focus my energy on photography and design-- my passion!

If anyone knows a small business owner, CPA, that might be interested, please let me contact me withjavascript:void(0)

A Big Welcome to Kristina & Aaron!

I love hearing the wonderful stories of how people meet and fall in love. Sometimes they are seem more like fairytales than real-life, and sometimes they are just very simple and honest.

Kristina and Aaron are getting married on October 4, 2008 at Otter Creek Park, a beautifully scenic location. They are both private people and very down to earth. When I asked Kristina to tell me about how she met and fell in love with Aaron, here's what she had to say:
"We met in the winter of 2000, he played softball with my now brother-in-law. Aaron always kind of liked me but he was too shy. Not to mention that the first time we met I yelled at him (I thought he was being mean to my nephew!) Well, when my brother-in-law finally got married in July 2006, Aaron was there. He called my sister the next day and asked for my phone number, but it took him two weeks to ask me out. But after that we pretty much have spent every day together. I guess it was not love at first sight but once we gave it a shot we knew that was it for both of us."

I love their story because of it's honesty. No-frills, just the simple truth. They spent lots of time together and learned to love one another in a way that they are both fulfilled. Beautiful.

Welcome, Cassie & Patrick!

I have been a little behind on blogging these days, but I wouldn't want to neglect my new 2008 brides!! Cassie and Patrick will be married at The Catherdral of the Assumption on November 7, 2008. Their reception will be held at the beautiful Henry Clay building. Cassie has excellent taste and this wedding is going to be fabulous!
Cassie and Patrick have a funny story of how they met and fell in love. She and Patrick met at the University of Kentucky at a fraternity party. Cassie knew that he was a great guy when she told him her favorite food was chili dogs and he got her a birthday card with a dog covered in snow on the front!(get it...a chili dog?!) From that moment on, they have been inseperable. Patrick's attentive ways and thoughtful actions will make him a wonderful husband!

You can check out their wedding web page on The Knot by clicking here.
