The Stevenson Family

I had the pleasure of spending some time with the Stevenson Family this weekend, who wanted some archival family portraits in honor of their parents 60th wedding anniversary. I have never had such a fun-loving group (all 24 of them!) together for family portraits. Congratulations on 60 years of marriage Lois and Jimmy!!

Erica & Roger

I literally just got done shooting Erica & Roger's engagement session. Roger is a volunteer firefighter, so they decided to have their session at the fire station, which was a terrific idea.

They are such a fun couple and so obviously in love, it was very easy to get great shots of them. Their pictures are simply amazing! Even though I have a million other things I need to be doing right now, I couldn't wait to look at the pictures on my computer. Once I saw how gorgeous they were, I decided I might as well go ahead and post them ;) Here's to you, Erica and Roger!

What’s the difference between buttercream and fondant?

This Guide to Wedding Cake Terminology from Bed, Bath and Beyond is an excellent resource to review before you go cake shopping! Actually, the Bed, Bath and Beyond website has a plethora of excellent advice articles for couples planning their big day. It is definitely worth checking out.

Special Occasions Magazine and Bridal Show

My wonderful and talented friend, Melissa Bean, helped me design the ad I will be using in the upcoming issue of Special Occasions Weddings (a Louisville-based magazine that is available at most major wedding vendors in the area.) I am so proud of this design and I think it really represents my company well. Make sure to look for my images throughout the magazine, as well as my article, Fabulous Photos:CHOOSING THE RIGHT PHOTOGRAPHER AND GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR IMAGES. (Yes, I will officially be a published writer!!)

I will also have a booth in the the Special Occasions Bridal Show in January. This is a HUGE event at the Kentucky Fair and Expo Center. Make sure to go register to get your free tickets to attend. This is an event you don't want to miss, there will be all types of vendors with booths, samples, a fashion show, and tons of give-aways. I am very excited to be a part of the show!

Dress for Success Suit and Salad Luncheon/ Silent Auction

While Vogue Visions Photography was in the planning stages, I consulted with an attorney, Lisa Lang, who happens to be a member of the board for Dress for Success. When I was asked to photograph the Louisville Boutique, I didn't hesitate, but I viewed it more as a one-time favor to Lisa rather than an opportunity to serve my community. I met the wonderful members of the board, the staff and the volunteers, and when I heard their stories I knew I had to get involved! Giving back to the community is something that is very important to my husband and I, as we feel like we have been very blessed in our lives.

Not only did I have the opportunity to photograph the annual Suit and Salad luncheon, but I will be shooting 12 women for a high-fashion calendar to raise money. I am so excited about the potential money it could raise for Dress for Success!

Jessica & Gary's Wedding

Jessica and Gary were married on Saturday in an intimate ceremony at Parkview Methodist Church. With all the hustle and bustle of the day, it was quite moving to see the serene look of love come over the bride and groom's faces as they exchanged their vows.

These are just a few of my favorite shots:

A Warm Welcome to Marian and Patrick!

I would like to give a warm welcome to Marian and Patrick, who are getting married in Dry Ridge, Kentucky (near Cincinnati.) I am so excited to shoot their wedding-- they are such a neat couple! Marian is a school teacher and Patrick works in forensic science. I met with them this evening to finalize their wedding package (we have been discussing details since June!) and they both just can't wait to be married.

They are having a casual wedding and a southern pig roast reception- how unique! Their wedding will definitely be one to remember!

New Customized Blog!!

Kudos to Madeline Miller who just completed my wonderful new blog design. I absolutely love how she used the bright colors of my logo with a simple design to achieve such a crisp and clean look. She is the most amazing laywer-by-day, designer-by-night that I know! ;)

So, tell me what you think? Any suggestions for changes? I would love to have your thoughts on the new design!

Yellowcard at 4th Street Live

Yellowcard rocked it out last night at 4th Street Live! There was a really good turnout for the show (everyone was shoulder to shoulder.) I must say I was unaware of the many other fans out there. They had lots of energy and sounded awesome. I highly recommend that everyone go out and get their new CD- and all of their old ones too! :) I have a few of their songs on my Ipod (mainly older ones)and I can't wait to get them all. The closing song, Ocean Avenue, was the highlight of the show for me, but all of the songs were fabulous.

Of course, I did not attempt to bring my nice camera, although I would have loved to have some good pics. My husband did bring our point and shoot Canon PowerShot to get a few of the band.
