My mom's mini-zoo

As some of you might know, my mom is a huge animal lover. She owned her own pet grooming business near Rough River for a long time and she continues to stay active in supporting local animal advocacy programs, such as the S.N.I.P. clinic. She has even volunteered to be a Santa at Feeder's Supply for a fundraiser for the Kentucky Humane Society! Isn't that the cutest thing ever?

Anyway, Luke and I went to her house yesterday for a yummy dinner and I had my camera with me (I had just finished shooting Baby Hailey's 3 month photos!) I took advantage and grabbed some great shots of our family pets.

Rogue is the black and white cocker spaniel- she has been around since I was in 6th grade. Brody is my step-sister Katie's pug (lovingly referred to as the step-pug by mom.) Ernie is the big furry orange dog, who was a rescue animal. Leah is the one-eyed cat, who is also a rescue animal. Last, but certainly not least, is Zoe, the mini goat (her photo was actually taken in the fall, but I didn't want to leave her out!) Orville is Zoe's BFF, but I don't have a photo of him. Next time...

Enjoy!

August McWorkshop

As most of you know, I was out of town all last week attending a workshop in Asheville, N.C. with Corey McNabb and Amber Holritz. I had an amazing time and learned a lot. Here are a few of my favorite images that I took during the workshop.

This first image actually won an award! 2nd place again though... I am going to keep submitting my work until I win a 1st place award!

Brooke's Senior Photo's

Brooke was chosen as one of my lovely senior reps this year. She is beautiful, outgoing and loves to have fun- and that's just what I look for in a senior rep! We ventured to the waterfront to shoot her photos, which seems to be a popular location these days. I love the water and grassy areas at Waterfront Park and the old buildings just 2 blocks up on Main Street. They offer lots of texture and color, which always makes images more interesting.

Congratulations on entering your senior year, Brooke! Enjoy it now- it goes by soooooooo fast!

One of my favorites- notice how she is biting her lip a little? She unconsciously does that when she gets a little nervous and it's so cute!

Wow! That's all I can say.

Erika and Will

Erika and will are such a cute couple. Although making out in public made them blush a few times, we got some terrific photos! I loved the way their faces lit up when they looked at eachother. Simply beautiful.

Check out Will's awesome curly hair!!

Melanie and Charles

Melanie and Charles are the most fun couple ever!! I can't believe they agreed, but they ran through a fountain at the end of their session. I can't wait for their wedding in October this year!

Award Winning Photograph

This year, the Kentucky State Fair had the a unique category in their photo competition, Let Freedom Ring. To honor my brother and his service to our country, I entered a photo I took of his at Cave Hill Cemetery at the U.S. Soldier burial ground. I am happy to say the the photo won 2nd prize! I am very proud of the photo, and most of all, I am proud of my brother. Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he serves in Afghanistan.

If you haven't been out to the fair, I encourage you to go and take a look at all of the wonderful photographs (South Wing of the KY Fair and Exposition Center.)

Corey McNabb's Rockstar Wedding Photography Workshop

I will be out of town (in Asheville, NC) Monday through Friday this week for Corey McNabb's Rockstar Wedding Photography Workshop. I am so excited!

In case you don't know who Corey McNabb is, he is an award winning photographer, named one of the top 100 wedding photographers in North America. He is also a fellow Pictage member. :)

Check out his website!

I will start working on editing all of the engagements and lifestyle sessions I shot last week as soon as I get back, so thank you for being so patient!

Grapes!

Luke has been working very hard in our little garden this year and he finally picked some grapes! For a while, they looked ripe but were very bitter. Now, they are sweet and tasty! I just thought I would share this with you :)
